Default CNC Machined Xbox 360 Cooling Box

Finished this couple months ago, finally deciding to post it.
I went through two 360's and on my 3rd one I decided to mod it...externally until the warranty ended. My 3rd 360 started getting real hot when I would play for hours and start lagging the games. My friend and I decided to build a case for the 360 to sit in and have air blowing through the 360.
Our sketch model had 4 intake fans on the bottom, 4 on each side, and 8 exhaust fans. The original sketch came out too big and we wanted to size it down a bit and ended up with this.

Taking the measurements and deciding on where to put mount the fans.

Wiring the fans together.

Using the CNC machine

Finishing the wirings

Final Product

There is a small hidden switch on the back that turns on the fans. There are 1 intake fan on the left, 3 on the right, and 4 exhaust fans. My 360 stays cool but its kind of little loud. When my friend and I have time, we will be building our revised cooling box for the 360.

Sorry about the massive pictures.

You could get a speed controller for the fans, and turn them down a bit if you're not wearing headphones and what not.

Thank You. It took us about 4 hours to complete the whole thing.

Didn't think of that. We just got scrap left over acrylic, spare fans from my work, and some spare power cables. Maybe on the revised box I'll put on a fan speed controller or buy some quiet fans.

Very nice solution that looks like it avoids voiding your warranty.

Question - does the air blow out of the front of the case at all, or do the side fans take care of that? That would eventually annoy me.

Air doesn't blow out the front. Guess my design actually worked
The side fans take the air in and it exhausts out the back.

Nice job. But have you tested if it actually works ? Any good airflow ? Since it's in a box and hot air can stil get trapped. Fan's or not...

Yup tested it out. The 360 only gets warm verses how hot it used to get. I need to test it out further but so far it seems to be working good. The only problem is the dust that gets trapped on the side vents of the 360. Probably need to add some dust filters?

Looks very nice, and is that AutoCAD? Man... I'm learning that in Design Tech class in high school right now. I didn't think anyone used it and I thought it was useless. I guess it helps with designing things like that.

Nicely done, it looks very clean and yea, a fan controller sounds like a good idea.
