i think this is what your asking. ive modded a few 360s and replaced a few drives as well .

well if your having the rrod you can ither send it in if you havnt played with your warranty sticker, or you can attempt to fix it your self (which is possible) once you do that then you can move from there, if your reformatting your dvd drive then u need to plug it into the pc via sata if your wanting to re flash hdd then you can do it over the dashboard.
