Hi guys,
Just a quick question about borderlands if you would be kind enough to answer. I'm getting tired of reading 'co-op' only to get the game home and find that it's a single player game where the second player can be controlled by your friend, but doesn't have any part to play in the game, story or achievements. If it's not that, you may find that their is local co-op - but only if you have an internet connection and both profiles have XBL Gold. I'm tired of it, I have been told about many games that are 'co-op' so have checked on Google, then gone and bought them. The last one was The Simpsons Game (sounded crap, but hey it was a 2 player co-op). It was crap. All I could do was drop into the second character, then stand around on buttons like a gimp while my friend ran around fighting, flying, climbing, collecting items and unlocking achievements. I just want a TRUE couch co-op game, something like the Halo series - where we can go through together, have progress saved together, both collect achievements and receive unlocks etc... A couple of other games I must ask about are also Sacred 2 Fallen Angel (is this a TRUE couch co-op) and Dragon Age - Origins. Cheers for the help guys MaK

Borderlands is co-op in the Diablo sense.
Where did you hear that Dragon Age is going to be co-op? I was under the impression it's single player.

Just a friend of mine told me about it and how "we could play co-op".
After posting my initial post I scoured Google and everything leads me to believe that it's simply another oblivion

It is true co-op. Anything you do in co-op will affect your stats. In fact, the only way to improve stats I think is to play co-op. You know how they keep talking about having 4 different balanced classes? Well, the only way to win stuff in the game is to have all 4 classes in the same game, and the only way to do that is co-op.

So my friend and I can play through the campaign together in split screen, both collecting upgrades and achievements and able to save our combined progress, then pick it up from thee later...???
That's all I need to know. I just don't want to go spending more hard earned cash only to find that the co-op everyone has been talking about was actually ONLINE Deathmatch/Survival/horde mode only.

Any points/achievements/cookies/medals/bonuses you get in co-op or online affect your character permanently.
OK, hold on. I might not be 100% certain. I know that anything you get online affects your character, but I don't know about split-screen.

Scratch that. From the Steam description (which applies to the 360 version too probably):
Co-Op Frenzy - Fly solo in single player or drop in and out with up to 4 Player Co-Op online and offline for a maniacal multiplayer experience So you can do 2 people split-screen offline and it counts as co-op.

Thanks for that Rep+
I'm still not sure about the whole drop-in drop-out thing - I might wait until someone here who has played it can tell me what it's like
