Default 3 RROD help (xbox 360)

When u have the 3 RROD, what is suppose to be displayed on the tv screen? Is the screen suppose to be blank? Anne when repairing, why do u need the screws and washers? Can you not use the x clamps again?

When you get the three red rings nothing is displayed on your TV, and I think the plastic washers stop the metal clamps from contacting and short circuiting the motherboard. I would put them the way they were to avoid any problems, but I never took off my x clamps so I don't know.

The whole issue is that the Xclamp puts pressure on the motherboard that accelerates the process of the solder breaking. Using the washers and screws, the pressure is straight on instead of pulling from the sides.
