Default Gamer Tag Recovery?
How do I recovery a 3yr old gamertag that the account was cancelled on? Is it even possible?

if the account was truly canceled then no you can not.. If you can stand the Microsoft Tech support id10t's then you can give them a call and see if they can do anything

You MIGHT be able to, if it's still an active account, and you know the secret question. If the gold subscription was cancelled, you might still be able to recover the silver account.
Your best bet is to ring Microsoft, and talk to one of their support agents, they might be able to dig it up for you.

I think you can recover it, it would have reverted to silver now if it was on a 360. I've never had something like that happen so I dunno for sure. Why not just try it, otherwise just call up MS but dunno how helpful they will be.

All you have to do is go to the dashboard then go to "Sign in" then scroll over to "Recover Gamertag" enter your password and email address that you used to sign up to Xbox Live. Or if you don't have an Xbox anymore go to Xbox.com
