Default Just bought second 360, interesting experience

I just bought my second Xbox 360 because the 60 GB pro console was 70$ off bringing it down to the same price as the arcade console. It was 199$ and the upstairs TV didn't have a proper DVD player until now, it also allows me to not play games in the dark basement when no one else is upstairs.

I haven't bought anything expensive like this in a long time from Futureshop but I have to say it was funny hearing them try to sell me a warranty for 80$ that would last 3 years and cover the "red rings problem." Kind of similar to what the 360 already comes with out of the box. When I explained this to her she was like well our warranty covers all the other colours as well.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else plays on two 360's and how you manage the downloadable content and other stuff when switching between consoles.

Getting a pro for the price of a arcade was a great deal though, and I noticed right away how much smaller the power supply was compared to my older 360 which was one of the first pro's to get hdmi.

Dont you just love retail sales people?

On a serious note, I have no idea about 360's, just thought that was funny.

Either carry your hard drive from room to room or put your profile on a memory card and whenever you want to play on the other console, carry the memory card with you to bring your gamesaves with you.

Congrats! ...but your TV still doesn't have a proper DVD player. The 360 has the worst DVD playback quality of almost any DVD player. You shoulda spent the extra $100 and got a PS3 instead.

Yeah it sucks...I remember when I got my launch console, I only had one component input on my TV. I put in a dvd and was appalled by what I saw.

I already have a ps3 and its not much better, also your article is severly outdated. it can upscale 1080p with a vga or hdmi cable.

The 360 has received many updates including the NXE one since them, that article is even before HD DVD came out.

EDIT: Correction it cant upscale over component but this also means that the ps3 cant do it either, and it looks and sounds fine to me.

I have had no such problems with the Xbox 360 as a dvd player. I have only had my 360 for a couple of months though, and that article is old. So i'm sure there have been updates.
