I dont know much about the classic XBOXs hence my question. Are all the classic xboxs the same such that they can all be used to run XBMC with the softmod? I ask b/c on the bay is a clear green one for sale. Or does it need to be the black XBOX?

They are all the same, the can all run the softmod. The clear green one just has a modded case.

If you get a mod chip you can put in your own hard drive. There's a couple other ways (aside from mod chip) but it's the easiest. So you could just FTP all the crap you want straight onto the HDD.
