Default Cooler xbox

Well I'm thinking of getting a xbox next week, and I read somewhere that it's better to run the games of the HD because it keeps it "cooler" is that true?

I really doubt the dvd drive generates that much heat, atleast enough to matter.

My brother and I have yet to have problems with our 360s running from dvd or hd.

I dont believe this to be true since in HD the GPU has more to process and would if not the same more heat then it would if it was processing a SD game

Sorry.. thought he was talking about high definition not Hard drive

Edit: whoops read it wrong. But i really doubt that too as sniper said i doubt the dvd drive generates much more heat

I don't know where you got that idea, but it is totally wrong.

Your Xbox will probably actually get hotter if you run it from the HDD.

Yes, it's better to keep it cooler, however I dont think the dvd drive will make any heat difference. But anything you do, don't buy one of those clip on fan things. It pulls more air over the built in fans and causes them to spin faster. My xbox fans bearings are dying because of that intercooler.

If you mean the Hard Drive then no the drive would actually get hotter than a Optical drive will. If you mean use the HD-DVD drive this is also no. If you mean an HD TV over a SD TV the GPU would get hotter unless its all on the TV to upscale.

Most are. But thats not to say some of the old ones have sat around in the store's warehouse. If theres a way to check, I'd do it.
