Welcome to OCN.

OC on a stock cooler is a no no. Get an aftermarket unit as soon as possible. How did you measure load? I find it kind of hard to believe that 57c load is correct unless your house is like 5c and the AC is blowing right on you machine.

AMD CPUs run a lot cooler than Intel CPUs, and since this is only a Dual Core Athlon, I can believe 57C.

However, I would say to invest in an aftermarket cooler if you want to OC further.

OP - You can find more info on max safe temps for AMD CPUs here - https://www.overclock.net/t/1134229/amd-cpus-max-temps/0_50

I think the temps are still cool because the side panel is taken off?

That's interesting.. i've gotten mine to 3.8GHz as well but the max i've ever seen whilst gaming and video rendering is about 40-48c, Stock cooler and a substitute for thermal paste.. (peanut butter)

How long did the peanut butter last as thermal paste?
