Yes, I run Seti, MilkyWay, Einstein and GPUGrid BOINC projects. I have 5 PC hosts that have 17 gpus scattered among them and some Android phones and tablets and a couple of SBC's running BOINC also.

My two PC hosts that can support 4 gpus are the most productive. I have a X99 Xeon host also that has 4 gpus also but it is significantly slower on the cpu tasks compared to any of the AMD cpus.

I run both cpu and gpu tasks on each host if they are capable. The gpus are the most productive obviously but the cpus also significantly contribute since I might have 8 or more cpu threads crunching cpu tasks also. All the AMD cpus can crunch a Seti cpu task in under an hour normally, some as fast as 30 minutes. The gpus run through Seti tasks in under a minute normally.

what do you guys think of this new top of 3960x ? I think it ridiculous. CPU will need a separate open loop to be cooled. I had 1950x with a single loop and 2080ti and I was suffering from high temps with max load. Now with this 100w tdp its gonna be even more crazy.

A lot of horse power, thanks for the interesting answer.

In any case, I am going to take a serious look at the Intel 10980XE via in-depth comparisons with TR3 product reviews. Further, the TR3 24 core doesn't interest me, but the upcoming TR3 32 core might when it releases in volume ?!
Yes, too short a window for the X399 products. Not like what AMD has traditionally done in supporting a socket for many years. One of the traditional benefits of AMD over Intel which always required a new motherboard platform for each generation change.

The socket is physically the same with the pin count remaining at 4094 pins. But the pins electrically have been slightly changed to cover the new X8 CPU >> PCH lanes that were previously X4 wide.

I found out the issue with the TR2920X too. I had the cpu and a 2080 and 1080Ti on the same single loop. No way to get the temps for the loop under control with both gpus dumping their heat. Those were the worst offenders, triple the wattage of the cpu. Needed to split the devices into their own respective loops. Now both the gpus and the cpu are well under control for temps.

My temps are fine, btw.

under gaming, under CB R20, RealBench, CPUZ stress test, which ever. overclocked right now, with an all core overclock, I get max 82C.

Peak 82C is way better than I expected TBH.

I found due to the smaller die the R5 3600 has higher temps than the R7 2700X on same WC setup (open air case), EK Supremacy Evo, 360mm slim rad solely for CPU.

CPU is stock, RAM 4x8GB 3800MHz C16, room ambient 19C for RB 32GB stress test. Average data in HWINFO is relevant, as I started data capture at same time as test and screenie captured at the moment of end.

Spoiler!

P95 non AVX 8K 4096K [email protected] 1hr, room ambient 18C, average data in HWINFO is relevant, as I started data capture at same time as test.
