Hello - I am getting ready to move the new Threadripper 2950X from the test bench to the Core P5 'case'. The mobo is the MSI Meg X399 Crt and currently just running Win 10 on a M.2. In all my other systems, I am dual-booted with Win 10 and Win 7 64, but when I checked the MSI site for Win 7 64 drivers, it only offered Win 10 as the choice ?

I had a (admittedly rudimentary) scan of this thread re. Win 7 with this mobo and Threadripper, but did not find anything. Any experience / advice you can offer on this ?

Thanks

@jazzcat81

Got to say your avatar pic is AWSOME! Wolfie definitely looks as though he/she is deep in meditation and linking up with the Supreme.

What's Finnish for 'Ep[y]ic Threadripper', and how do you say 'please let me run CinebenchR15 w/ 200,000 7nm Rome cores' ?

Anyone here have a 2970WX? I would imagine compared to the 2950X and 2990WX they will be rare. What a beast though, the 2970WX beats the 7980XE and 9980XE in multithread performance at $1300!

Also an interesting graph I found comparing the IPC of Threadripper to other CPUs, surprisingly not much difference, actually the same or better than the 6950X. Ryzen 2 is up to Skylake level. Intel's only real advantage is higher clocks, but that comes with frightening temps/power consumption as the core count climbs.

* Fixed a number of problems related to RAID
* Improved overclocking of RAM
* New SMU/PMU

but in general it is confidential information , I unfortunately have access to all the nuances
