So what’s the go to budget build for gaming at 4K 60fps?

It’s been awhile for me without a pc ...
Don’t want anything special just a bang for your buck build to hook up to my tv and Dolby atmos surround system to go along with my PS4 pro and Xbox one X I even have a spot in my tv equipment stand for a pc lol....
Don’t need anything special silence is key.

Ryzen 1600/2600, best GPU you can afford, 16GB of at least DDR4-3000. ez.

Wouldn't go any lower than a 1070 Ti and that's cutting it a bit close for a 4K rig.

Intel i9 9900K Coffee Lake @ X8 5309mhz (+47.5%)
AMD FX-8320 Vishera @ X4 5022mhz (+43.5%)
Intel i5 4690K Haswell @ X4 5013mhz (+43.2%)
AMD X4 960T Zosma @ X6 4870mhz (+62.3%)
Intel i7 6700 Skylake @ X4 4709mhz (+38.5%)
Intel i5 6400 Skylake @ X4 4588mhz (+69.9%)

Buy a Windows 10 key on eBay and save $100.

Ryzen 5 1600/2600 at 4K is going to perform identically to an 9600K at 4K in 99.9% of games and is cheaper. I wouldn't go for a 9600K if your focus is on cheap as possible.

Updated, this CPU is the 450 chipset? I don’t want to mess with a bios update

B450 or X470, yeah. Most B350/X370 boards should have the more recent BIOS on them and should work out of the box by now though if you want to save a few bucks, but the price differences aren't huge.

I’m guessing if I was to game at 1080i I’d be able to step down to a much cheaper 1060 gpu.
But since my Xbox one x does 4K it’s hard to spend double it’s cost for lower resolution gaming.

Wut? 1070 Ti? Lol, 1080Ti/2080 is the minimum for 4k 60FPS! Everything below will never give you average 60FPS in 4K, not even talking "constantly 60 FPS".

1070Ti would push 60fps only in some indie game, or 10yo game.

2080 Ti is way to go for constant minimum 60 FPS at 2160p.....and even that thing manages to drop down at ~59FPS level, rarely though.

And yeah, for 60FPS u don't care about CPU horsepower, while it has decent clocks, pretty architecture and >=6-8 threads - because game devs unoptimize games for 6-8 threads lately, some 4core i5 that was decent 3 years ago, is decent no more. IDK why it turned out so quickly - maybe because of core race back again...
