AI overclock tuner in bios m5a97 r2.0 stuck on auto

Hello everyone, its been a while since i posted here. i have a strange issue on my m5a97 r2.0 , i am unable to make any setting adjustment on the AI overclock tuner in bios, every time i go into the tuner, my mouse freezes, i am able to go into any other tabs in the BIOS, but as soon as i click on the AI tuner tab my mouse freezes.

i have tried several different mouses and it still freezes. have also cleared the CMOS, same thing happens, reinstalled the current BIOS, same thing

it seems that the AI overclock is stuck on AUTO, i have also lookup for a new BIOS chip, bit i am not sure that it will fix the issue

BIOS CHIP ASUS M5A97 R2.0 | eBay

any suggestions would be appreciated

Unplug your PC, pull the battery out of the motherboard (looks like a coin in a slot), after that press the power button (while it's still unplugged) to drain the residual electrical energy in your motherboard's capacitors, THEN preform a clear CMOS by either jumping pins, or pressing a button, to reset your BIOS. And try using a Keyboard instead of a mouse and use the old school USB2.0 (NOT USB-3+ or high-powered charging ones) that run off the native chipset controller to run your peripherals. If that doesn't work try finding a PS/2 (analog green/purple) adapter or mouse/keyboard to interface with your Motherboard.

Also your PC could be just locking up from Overheating or Overclocking / Memory instability when in BIOS and it shows up when sitting in the BIOS/UEFI menu because thats like leaving your car in neutral and having it bouncing off the rev-limiter the whole time - things happen.

If that all fails then try using the AI-tuner software within your OS to adjust and save your settings to motherboard-memory. PC may lag or be slow during the process but thats because the OC software is bypassing the OS's priority que to send requests to the the CPU and going directly into the firmware of the motherboard and interfacing with it to make adjustments.
