Just before I retired my 8370 @ 5ghz I benched it on the games I have. After I got my Ryzen 1700 up to speed and running well @ 3.9ghz I benched it on those same games.

In modded DX8 games the FX did better, in DX9 games they were very close and went back and forth, and in DX11 it was Ryzen all the way. I had no DX12 games.

The difference in DX11 is substantial as you can see in Dirt Rally and AC Odissey in the chart. But that is old news, the main focus was at well optimized brand new DX12 / Vulkan titles.

It did very well in the newest titles but the difference in handbrake is hilarious.

Ouch. At least have a half decent O/C on the 8350!

I may run some of these on my 8350 currently at 5.125GHz, 2800 NB, 3250 HT Link, 250 Bus.

I'd be interested to see if the O/C helps lessen the gap by any significant margin.

Handbrake uses AVX instructions

FX-8350 wasn't a true octocore , there was a lawsuit about it since it's more of a quadcore with CMT (there's only one floating point unit per module)

The gap is pretty large on some of them, now imagine with a card more powerful than the best of 2013/2014?

The GAP still Huge in DX11 , I've tested with a Vega 64 in DX12 and Vulkan and results were similar.
