Being on the same platform for 6-7 years makes me want to get a 3900X, which would be better suited for the Crosshair VIII Impact. I don't see myself justifying the 3950X and it seems like the 6c chiplets are clocking slightly better than the 8c chiplet variants.

My fiancee is still on a 3570K as well and I might upgrade her to a 3700X if Black Friday/Holiday sales are looking good.

How did that TridentZ 3200 B-die kit work out for you? Can you run it at 3600 or 3733 with relaxed timings? And on what motherboard?

Planning a Zen2 build now and want 32GB total DRAM. Deciding between 2x16GB dual rank B-die or 4x8GB singe rank B-die and I'm not sure which is better. Maybe it depends on the motherboard I choose (daisy-chain or T routing on the DDR4)?

As im waiting my 3950 i have now a 3600 on a Aurus x570 Pro and TridentZ 3200 bdies that run fine at 3600 cl14. Basically i passed all the numbers from ryzen calculator for 3600 except that i changed the timmings to 14 14 14 and voltage to 1.4.
So far the machine is perfectly happy and i left it in work doing memtest since yesterday.
If in Monday i see 0 errors i will try a bit more hz with cl14.
I wonder how much more voltage i can give since the memories doing all this with 33c and ambient temp 26

Thanks @Himo5 . I have actually found that same video 5 hours before you posted. Buildzoid confirmed that the set I was looking at would run at 3600+ on Zen2
https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-...82E16820232378

No need to pay for the Gskill "Neo" stuff if you are ok with setting timings manually. @bluechris also backed up that claim.

That is cheap. My set of 32GB memory costed 322.3€ but I live in Finland so there is everything higher costs. Prices has come down a bit. Does newegg have an EU warehouse?

Hi,
Sold and shipped from newegg is usually cheaper
Once the egg runs out the price gougers take over and add 50% more to the price.

Lol thanks for reminding me how little I have gotten done in the past few months. I managed to pick up a 3900x and an x570 Ace earlier this month. I'm still picking up parts for a custom loop, but I did toss it together with the Wraith prism just to test everything out and start installing software. Currently just running XMP. I have had some other projects eating up my free time, but eventually I will see what the RAM is capable of.

Are you running your FCLK at 1800 to match the memory speed? I only did a test setup of my 3900X, Asus Crosshair VIII Impact and similar TridentZ RGB 3200 B-die but only tested the DOCP profile at 3200 14-14-14 at 1.35V and FCLK at 1600, just to make sure everything was working.
