The 5820K is fairly close to the GEN 1+, R5 2600X. Seems like owners of GEN 1+ are not as compelled upgrading to GEN 2 unlike GEN 1 owners, except of course, they need more cores.

eBay has new boxed 5960x for about 450.us where as all broadwell-e is still stupid expensive.
6900 800.us 8 core same as 5960x is
6950x really stupid priced at 1200.us+ new skylake-x is cheaper
Not all that sure how well 5960x games at default clocks.

Complete waste of money to upgrade in this scenario considering the 4.6Ghz OC when "I only game".
You might even lose performance or just break even in some games that are capped by single-core performance, as the 6700k OC with similar performance as yours sometimes seems to beat the new 3000-series in single core bound gaming.
https://forums.anandtech.com/threads...games.2567554/

I have a [email protected] which should be about the same performance with less cores, and if i magically had 6 cores (like you), there's no way I would consider 3900x nor 9700/9900k.
(I DO need more cores though, but you don't by the sounds of it - wait until you play a new game that actually bottlenecks by your multicore performance or something significantly better than the current generations arrive).
