From reuters, amd promise volume shipment for 3950x and 24 cores TR3.
Believe them or not? Sounds like a statement to calm investors as 3900x are still rare!

Wrong marketing, wrong strategy, false statements...Why? In ideal world AMD is offering first 3900 and 3950 without X with lower clocks. Than on Xmas they will offer X versions with higher clocks and AIO water cooler. But on this planet they are simply stupid

Yep, false advertisement causing huge frustration of customers over the planet this is a genius AMD marketing ha-ha It’s the same promise as Intel 10nm desktop and the same kind of failure

I am ready to buy 3950/4.5GHz/$600 I don’t need to wait for 4.7 not achievable using current 7nm technology

3950x and new threadripper will be presented by AMD CEO Lisa Su on November 5th.
They should be available on November 19th

That is great news! Finally got a timeline, glad I checked in..

I am concerned with the overclock on the 3900x/3950x and if AMD can even address it..
While I would love love love more cores.. clock speed is important and if can only realistically to 4.5 then I rather go 9900ks at 5 even if its less cores.

Laundromatic - Feb 2012 TC Champs!

clock for clock comparisons between Intel and AMD are not really "sensible"
At the same clock speed AMD is faster than Intel so take it into consideration

5GHz is enticing, but I've been there and done that with my 7700K for the past few years.

Now lots of cores is more enticing. And you you do the math you're getting 75% more performance in multi threaded even though the clock speed is less. Also, 7nm = more power efficient cores, so more of them can be active compared to Intel's HEDT CPUs.

I heard some new TRs will be presented only. Do someone have any proofs that 3950x will be released together with new TRs?
