Looking for Opteron 6200 and 6300 series benchmarks

Hi guys,

I can't find any benchmarks anywhere showing me how these CPUs compare in performance vs other CPUs. All I can find is Passmark results but I don't think that site is always 100% accurate in it's scores for different CPU models. I have an Opteron 6262 HE at home. How fast is it compared to a Phenom II or an AMD FX? What about similar CPUs on socket g34? (6200 and 6300 series only please)

Thanks.

I have a dual g34 system sitting around. Its running a pair of the 62xx or 63xx 8 core chips. Can't remember which off hand. RAM is 1333mhz dual channel (bad memory slot is preventing quad on the second CPU)

Is there any specific processes you want as comparison?
I have coded my own benchmarks if you want a like for like comparison on specific tasks (cpu only vs cpu/memory)

In comparison to other FX chips, opterons are 'slower' in a lot of tasks simply because of the core speeds. But, they made up for that with increased core counts. The key with the 6xxx series chips was picking an ideal workload which was preferably integer based as they used shared floating point processing pairs. If the workload was more memory intensive, they could theoretically out perform some of the FX chips just because of the quad memory channels. So, the simple answer to your query about comparisons is: depends
