OC guide for 3700x?

Most people say it's just not worth it. I got one for $250 new. I have my 50 gallon water cooled system. Any guides out there or is it just plain pointless?

Raise voltage, raise core clock multiplier and boom, it's done. There's also PBO offset but I can't remember how to tune it, there's plenty of info on that on the internet I assume.

I posted most of it here after I get some expansion washers and new thermal paste I'll post more info in the water cooling section.

Now that is the type of build I love only advice is be careful of growth, my chiller container was open top and the water looked clean after 4 months, til I took it apart and the evaporator was filled with this nasty white growth, gross lol

Stay around 1.325V as the max voltage as anything higher can damage the chip regardless of how cool you keep it.

Its best to leave it alone and enable PBO and do other tweaks like in ram and the infinity fabric i was able to get mine to 1833mhz a mild OC of 1800mhz.

If you do OC expect to get 4.2-4.3Ghz at 1.325V if not a little worse 4150mhz.

3700X PBO (IF, 1833mhz)16GB Samsung B-die 3666mhz 14-16-14-28
MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X
EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3
Fractal Design R6(All fans replaced with 5 Noctua A14 fans)
H150i(Fans replaced with Noctua NF-A12)

Noctua fanboy detected! Fans all run at 800RPM

Yeah I turned turb off, pstates off, emi thing off. Went with 1.33500v at 4.3 ghz, intel burn test of 10. I can run at 1.375v 4.3 ghz, but it won't survive any kind of stress test. It will however benchmark in CPU-z. Beyond a stock 9900k in single thread. Trying 1.3500v 4.35 ghz after typing this will edit. That almost ran cinebench. Trying 4.325 1.3500v

So at 4.325 ghz 1.3500v I got 5214 on cinebench, until I get more thermal paste, the mounting washers I need and some extra tubing to run this on its own pump, this will have to do. I don't doubt I can get stable 4.4ghz in the future. I'm using whatever stock paste I got in 2009 that came with my phenom II

You might get a better overclock if you have all the power saving states enabled(PSS, cstates, cool n quiet). It should give you more thermal headroom.
