Now Im doubting which 3000 AMD CPU to get

Now Im really confused. AMD 12core or 16 core or 3800x then upgrade again next year when Zen 3 comes out since its a CPU drop in upgrade.

You’re like a dog with a bone aren’t you?

But,that seems like the best way to go so that you can finally have a system up & running ,and satisfy your upgrade itch...
..so go with that , or even better , a 3900X which will give you more headroom..

oh the cycle is a glorious thing to watch bwahahaha

Mr. Rig, better hardware will always come. remember this before you spam us with rage when AMD drops the chip that kills whatever chip you get now.

seriously, get the 3900x n be done with it. You missed by 50, not bad.

but it doesn't exist, thus all his frustration.

dude needs to go out in the sun for a bit, breath. realize there's more to life than blistering fast 1440p 144FPS ultra max settings gaming(it just takes more than clicks). as epic as it is. n clearly ONLY the 3950x can properly deliver this bruh.

I have held off upgrading my 1700, constantly reading everything regarding ryzen 3000 but holding firm waiting for Zen 3.
Then all your posts overwhelmed me and I could stand it no longer. This morning I ordered the 3800x which was priced a little cheaper than I have seen the 3700x.

I think you should pick up a 3800x they are < $400 CAD. Canadian dollars are not real money anyway. (;-)

noooo!

its fine. I'm still on the ryzen3 train. CPU waiting is silly easy for me though. This 9700k was a nice and inexpensive place holder upgrade from my x79 4930k, and i'll be staying on this until the cheaper high lane count ryzen 3 chips drop. (40+) gotta have that full 16x4.0 GPU going, and some 10gbe, 4x NVME on a PCIE, etc etc. <<< that's speed. The CPUs are already fast enough, and have been for a little while now. It's all the peripherals that're just now becoming affordable to catch up on. It'll be nice to have 8tb of NVME striped as a system drive. 4tb is too smol.

This is what you should do Turtle Rig. If you are patient and can wait get the 3950X when it becomes available. If you want a CPU now go for the 3900X. Amazon is taking orders for the 3900X at retail price for delivery in a couple of days.
