Weirdly enough the good chip boosts lower and gets 100pts less in cinebench when I run it at default settings compared to my old 3700X which needs way more voltage in allcore oc

I am using CoreTemp 1.15.1 to monitor my temps. At idle ...... it will bounce between 29C and sometimes jump to a little over 40c .......and I am not doing ANYTHING but just watching the temps. What is causing this jump? Is this normal? (Yes, it typically returns to "cool" pretty quickly but there just doesn't seem to be any reason for it considering I am not doing ANYTHING requiring computing power.........??

I am using a negative offset of 0.1312 which definitely helped bring down my core temps from an average of say.....40c to more along the lines of 30c......

I am not attempting any overclocks. And I specifically set my CPU fan speed to ramp up pretty heavy at 30C because I don't mind replacing CPU fans if they burn out.

Are you also watching core usage ? Something must be driving that up too.

The temp spikes are normal. They are caused by the boosting algorithm.

Fans don't burn out.

Don't use CoreTemp. Use HWInfo or Ryzen Master to monitor temps.
