AMD R5 2600 Overclock tips

Hey!

I'm buying the Ryzen R5 2600 CPU and I'm looking for tips to overclock it.

My full setup:
- Aerocool Bolt with 3x 12cm fan (2 front and 1 back, for airflow).
- ASUS TUF B450 Plus Gaming
- 4x 4GB DDR4 2400MHz Kingston HyperX Fury Black
- 400W EVGA white (I think this may be an issue)
- MSI RX 480 Armor 8GB GDDR5 256 bits.

How far can I push the overclock and mainly, how do I do it?
A tutorial would be nice (text or video).
Someone with the same CPU achieving good results?

Thanks

The PSU is an issue yes its awful and should be replaced
Its not even a 400 watt unit since the 12v rail is only rated for 360 watt but only rated to do that at a pathic 25c so what you have is not even a 300 watt unit

The low speed of the RAM is also holding the CPU back a little bit

The Corsair CXM is decent option if you dont have a lot of money otherwise the Seasonic Focus GX or the Fractal Design Ion+ are both good options

I'll change it ASAP, I'm looking for a Thermaltake Smart Series 700W RGB Plus White.

Considering that change, how the overclock will perform? And how can I do it.

Thats not a better PSU you dont need more wattage you need better quality
The cheapest option that not total rubbish is the Corsair CXM and even that is not great

If you want something really good you got the Fractal Design ion+ or the Seasonic Focus GX
Or there is the Phanteks AMP which is a rebrand of the Focus

A 450-550 watt is more than enough power you dont more wattage you need better quality

If this thread is still running the ram is a bit meh. It seems to be hynix MFR. You should try for 3400 mt/s on the ram. So maybe find a cheaper set that OCs ok. Crucial ballistix are a good choice (ones with AES in part number). If you are going to run only 2666 then get some cheap b-die samsung own brand (the stuff with the heatspreaders) off ebay and OC it.

RAM is a PITA to choose a nice set . If you get hold of thaiphoon burner and ryzen dram calculator its easy. Plug the part number into the database in thaiphoon and plug the numbers and die type into ryzen dram calculator.

If you find a 1600 AF that may be a bit cheaper than a 2600.
