I would like to get this AMD build up soon but AMD won't reveal the release date of these refreshed cpu's and it's really annoying
Instead of being annoyed, I would be using an AMD build with a kick as 3900X.

Because if they did the demand for their current products would plummet and they would have to flog them off at cost price to gt rid of them

Or just make the product cost more by introducing further overhead at the retail level. positives and negatives everywhere. If I had it I would play with it, sell and upgrade later.

Personally I would just keep the 3900X you have especially if you plan to upgrade to the 4000 series later. We really have no idea of when the XT will release or what the price point will be. I have not even seen an actual AMD confirmation that the XT is actually coming out. Nor have we seen any tests. Sure the single core may actually hit higher but with some tweaks the 3900X can easily hit 4.650Ghz and all core 4.25-4.275 Ghz without an all core OC.

I was in the same situation and from reading the forums and watching some videos that's what put me onto the 3900x instead of waiting for the 3900xt.

I did not want to get caught in the wait a couple more weeks/months basing my decision on the leaked price. That $100+ difference of 3900x to 3900xt was like 3800x to 3900x for me. Then the thought of Ryzen 4000 in a few months or maybe 6 months. I can not win against new technology being constantly released.

Went for the best deal as of now because it seems every 6months there will be a new part and everything starts getting better in increments of $20-$50-$100 so it's easy to get caught up spending more for nothing if the hardware is not utilized efficiently for the workload. I almost chose intel due to x570 motherboard availability but the options for amd cpu's destroy intel cpu's when compared at similar price points. Even their stock cooler is better
