My unopened 3900X to 3900XT dilemma (under 20 day return policy)

I was there to buy the motherboard on clearance they were running a $20 off special if you bundle it with a CPU. Done. Bought a 3900x May 29th, 2020. I'm under a 20day return or exchange policy as long as the seal isn't broken on the box

I must have reviewed over a dozen 3900XT leaked specs and price videos and suggestions and I'm nowhere closer to figuring out what my decision will be. As of this posting, I have 19 days to make a decision. As I find out more information that starts to sway my decision I'll post links below. I would love to hear suggestions from the OCN community during this time as I know I'm not the only one getting the urge to buy.

Also, this is all going in a 2nd system primarily for editing with a bit of streaming/gaming. I haven't owned an AMD processor since the Athlon days. I 've seen them kicking butt as of late and I want iN!!
Thank you

When i buy from microcenter. I always check and see what the date code is on the cpu. And try to get the newest chip they have. If the box has a window anyway.

I'd return it. Ryzen 7nm clock like hot garbage, the XT refresh fixes that in a small way of clock bumps.

I am guessing AMD will probably release this same time as when they first released them last year. Based on that you would have to wait about one month. You are probably getting a CPU that has 150-200MHz higher clock boost and that can OC higher (3300X) level on all cores 4.4-4.6GHz. Personally, if you have no intention of getting Zen 3 than wait for XT. If not 3900X still fine.

If you already have another system and you don't mind waiting, why not just wait for Ryzen 4k CPU? In a few months, you might have buyers remorse if you settle for the XT model.

@Fighting Games
Return the CPU if you think your going to miss out on something.
Fact:3900X is one of the fastest CPU's you can buy at the moment. There will be faster CPU's released all the time.

The Arous extreme X570 board I have pictured above also supports Ryzen 4k cpu's. The board has remained ideal because I haven't broken the seal of my 3900X I currently have. If I return the 3900X and wait on the 3900XT I can always sell the 3900XT once the 4k series release, if I have buyers remorse and just absolutely gotta have it. I would like to get this AMD build up soon but AMD won't reveal the release date of these refreshed cpu's and it's really annoying
