High CPU temps ...

Guys I need some help here. I built a new computer 1 month ago I currently have a 3900x, MSI Meg X570 Unify , Noctua D15 cooler. I setup was idling at 39 to 42 degrees. After the latest Windows 10 Pro updated my cpu is now idling at 48 to 60 degrees. Since I got the built the only modification i made on the BIOS was turning off PBO. That helped with the temps by then but now they not the same as before. Anyone has seen this happening in the last 2 to 3 days?. What could be causing this all of a sudden hight idle temps.

Any input highly appreciated.

I mean we could name a million things that have no relevance to you or you could check task manager and see what is putting a load on your CPU, lol.

PC is built new. I have yet to OC the cpu. I currently have Chrome, Discord, Origin, Steam. Fairly not too many programs loaded.

Pook knows what he's talking about (don't quote me on that ) Look for something active in task manager. It will tell you exactly what is keeping the CPU active.

If it's not a background task keeping the clocks and temp up, the next step would be checking fans, settings, mounting, and thermal paste.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago, even task manager wouldn't show me what was going on however, I did a restart and went to bed let it do its thing, temps are now back to the high 20's to mid 30's, So I assume there was something updating

The left pear is updating, this causes high squirrel usage. Ever eat a cat before?

Depending on what the update included, Windows could be doing something tarded like rebuilding the search index. I read that the latest update included changes to Defender, so a rescan of the drives could also be part of the activity. Either way, it still should have showed up in task manager. I'm not a developer or programmer so this is all just guessing.

Thank you. I will wait a couple of days if the temps continue I will reset BIOS.
