3900X - Interesting Voltage Changes
This is on a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Wifi
So, I'm in the process of running a ton of benchmarks in a variety of situations on the 3900X, and I encountered an interesting behavior while running Prime95 at full tilt (128k/128k in place FFTs, AVX2). During the first few minutes, my chip runs at a slightly higher voltage (1.071V according to HWInfo), and it gradually begins to drift downwards. After 15 minutes it's now running at 1.044V with drops to 1.025V. In addition, clocks went from 3.75 GHz to 3.697 GHz. Note that all settings are completely stock with PBO disabled. Temperature does not appear to be an issue as the chip has been hovering around 70C for the duration of the test. Has anyone else experienced this? I am tempted to play around with LLC to see if it's an issue with the board.
PPT hasn't really changed much, it has hovered around 130W for the duration of the test.
EDIT: Voltages are now around 1.031V and clocks have jumped slightly back to 3.7GHz. EDIT #2, EDC is at 75.7% of max, TDC is at 100%, and PPT is at 91.4%. Interesting. Oh, one more thing, Power Reporting Deviation is at 98.5%.
