XT CPU Prices revealed

I've discovered the new XT prices, at least what CCL currently has them listed as.

3900XT £480
3800XT £390
3600XT £240

The prices don't show when when selecting the product page, but see the attached for a little trick I discovered - simply hover the mouse over the CPU icon and it reveals the price ;-)

Not bad, even when you convert your strange currency into our near worthless Monopoly Money in Convict Town.

Really looking forward for this last purchase in 2020, of the Zen 2 series.

Gonna be a hard pass from me. I would rather wait for Zen 3. If I was in the market for Zen 2, I wouldn't bother with these binned parts. I would rather save money with existing products.

Until Zen 3 actually appears the future XTs are good enough.

Have a need to build another 2 more machines using a 3600 and 3800 series. Far better to get the XTs instead, when they appear because they are going to be supplied soon.

That price could just be a "holder" price.

If they used the 3600X template to create that page than the price is probably the price of the 3600X and could be amended when the product goes live ...

Until Zen 3 appears, the rest of the Zen 2 lineup is good enough. These are basically just better bins of existing products and they're charging a premium for it. Why get an R7 3800XT for ~$400 when you can get an R9 3900X for under $420? Why get an R5 3600XT for ~$250 over an R5 3600 for ~$175? The R5 3600X already wasn't worth it. There's almost no chance the R5 3600XT will be. Same for the R7 3800X over the R7 3700X until the R7 3800X dropped to within $30 for the R7 3700X. There's no way to justify the R7 3800XT over an R7 3800X. I'm sure these processors will have a decent bump in performance over the parts they're replacing, but it's not going to be worth the ~$80 premium. Just get something already available or wait for Zen 3. These XT refreshes are not the move.

If these will work on A/B/X300 series boards, then they might prolong their use.

By Built-in Benchmark Queen:
My 2.5 years old delidded 7980xe @ 4600mhz all core with 49ns memorylatency (4000c16 twekaed) is faster than 3950x max overclocked on water in every scenario. Pretty good for a ancient cpu
In gaming it has no chance vs my new 10900k @ 5400mhz and 4600c16 tweaked memory. ~35ns memorylatency.

Agreed, prices could well change come launch day.

Having purchased a 3900X literally days before the news of the XT's appeared I'm not going to be buying one, my next upgrade if I feel the need will be Zen 3.

If I was building now instead of back in May then dependant on actual price difference I may well of gone for the 3900XT, but the price difference would of also taken into account the lack of a cooler - I sold my RGB Wraith for £35 less fee's.

No reason why not, it's just some better silicone in 3000 series although them starting with 3600xt I wouldn't even consider A320MBs.
