At an $80 premium, I'd hope that the Crosshair VI Extreme offers something superior to the GT8. The GT8, just like the GT7, offers excellent components for the price. If I didn't care about price/performance, I'd have had a 9900k on pre-order.

We are talking engineering wise right? Not price/performance.

No, we're talking about both because context matters. In pure engineering terms, The GT8 has 'one of the best' VRM's on AM4. If we take price into account (as most people buying a Ryzen mainstream processor are) then the phrase is doubly accurate as it represents a tremendous value for 'one of the best' VRM's on an AM4 motherboard. I'm quoting 'one of the best' repeatedly because you seem to lack some understanding as to what exactly that phrase implies. Here's some help. That the Crosshair VI Extreme has 'the best' VRM on AM4 is only relevant to the thread in that it sets the highest bar by which we judge all other AM4 motherboards. If the GT8 VRM is still in the top range of available AM4 boards, and it is, it's still 'one of the best'. If I can get better VRM quality for less than some of its competitors (and I can) that adds another layer of appeal for the GT8 and thus we've come full circle.

There's an entire AM4 VRM thread where we can discuss all day long how the Extreme is the bestest. This thread was premised on a simple question and the answer to that question is still yes.

Chill out dude, you seem tense, no need to try subdue me. Dont want to discuss anything dude, i just pointed the "BEST" one. You see how i quoted the word "BEST"? Nothing prohibit me from pointing that out, and there is nothing wrong exposing it. Just take a cup of tea and relax ok.

If you didn't want to discuss anything you probably shouldn't have posted anything. :-) You pointed out the 'best' one, and I explained why that was irrelevant to the thread at hand. There is nothing prohibiting your observation, nor is there anything prohibiting mine. Lamely protesting 'u mad' instead of offering any reasonable response inclines me to believe that miklkit is correct and you're only here to troll. As I said, the Crosshair VI Extreme having 'the best' VRM doesn't have anything to do with the GT8's having 'one of the best', save for providing a high-water mark which isn't relevant to the topic at hand if a significant number of motherboards aren't also meeting that mark.

The whole subject of what is the "best" should really be avoided. It's too easy to get into endless debates that go nowhere. A better question would be "What is best for you?"

Is this Biostar board the best for cpu overclocking? No. While the vrms are pretty good, the heat sink is pretty bad so they will run hot without lots of air flow. If you are into the highest cpu numbers, then this board is not for you.

Is this board good for gaming? Yes! That is what I do and I have never seen gpu temperatures so low before. Is it the best for gaming? Dunno and don't want to go there anyway.

It's strength: Cool running gpu. Great bang for the buck. Two bios chips with a switch. This is the first board I've owned that has this and I wil never own another without this feature.

It's weakness: The quirky old school bios. Win 98 anyone? It works but doesn't come with training wheels.
