Though I agree the PSU is definately the one part of the system that might hold you back, my last issue with OCing(?) was windows errors, solved by an sfc /scannow.

I've got a solid 4.2 on a 3 phase board with an overkill PSU. There could possibly be other factors involved.

If replacing the psu doesnt do it, read your memory dumps with bluescreenview to really try and narrow your specific issues down.
This is why I wanted to come here to ask questions! I hadn't even considered that some of my issues could be windows related. I just ordered a evga g3 gold 750w psu. After I get that installed I'll try again and if I still get the aforementioned issues I'll start looking into mem dumps. Thanks for the input.

I already figured that could very well be the case, but I hate working with this PSU and have wanted a modular psu anyway. So, aside from the above advice to start digging into windows error codes, you have any thoughts on bios/voltage settings for this particular motherboard?

Not unless you provide actual voltage readings with HWiNFO in example.

grab the bluescreenview application and come back here with the memory dump screenshots when it crashes. if theres a trend we can narrow it down, you can just use this same thread.

I personally stand by the decision to replace that PSU either way. The build quality is just a no for me. having opened some for other other uses I really only want to ever use Delta and Superflower OEM units.

HWiNFO, not Monitor. The latter usually reads bullcrap. That voltage though :v. You can try putting RAM on default non-XMP setting temporarily and check your luck with overlocking the CPU again. I'm pretty sure you lost silicon lottery, frankly.

I don't think 'pretty sure' will be 'as sure' as a straight up memory dump. :|

Recommendations stands, lets try to be methodical like Snake Pliskin, and less run and gun like Rambo here.

Never just go changing a bunch of things on a whim, these memory dumps will show us precisely where things are tripping up.

That may be, I just want to keep working at it. Here's a screenshot of hwinfo, not real sure what all info you wanted but hopefully that shot will be what you wanted to see.

I will grab that app and experiment with it in the next few days, I'll post results. Thanks!
