Really? That sucks. I thought i read that the Steel Legend would be the more expensive version must have mixed them up.

I really don't know what to go with then. I could just wait for prices to drop like AlphaC suggests, but really need to get rid of this 2500k. It's a real pain to use in modern times. I've also been waiting since Dec to build already. I sold the 8086K that i won from Intel to wait for Zen 2 and just want to get it over with already.

Nothing guys, as I received the CH7 I've returned id, had some thermal paste on the socket and clear signs of extrem overclock with ln2 or similar.

I'll wait until 7/7 to see real diferences in x570 vs x470 and decide a low/mid x570 or x470 Taichi.

One more update, Asus x470 ROG Strix F Gaming came on sale at 169€, after checking about it's quality (VRM) and support I've just decided to buy it.
It will arrive tomorrow, so I'll try it first with 2600 and later with 3700x, I'll comment some impresions.

sorry to jump into your thread but I am also considering an upgrade path with X470 high End or X570 low end in mind

I am running a 1500X stablish at 3.95Ghz with 1.4V (with the help of a good AIO) on a ASROCK PRO4 B350. The board doesnt have LLC or Voltage Offest, I can not control SOC voltage either and I have manged to run my CORSAIR LPX at 3133Mhz with 1.375 but on C16 timings

With the upgrade,I have several goals

1 Improve my CPU OC limit (would be nice to reach 4Ghz stable)
2 Reach 3200Mhz on the RAM with if possible tighter timings
3 Preparing a possible future Cross Fire GPU upgrade

On the last point, I have a VEGA 64LC currently installed in my rig but the Asrock Board doesn't allow XFire. The Plan would be to upgrade the board and buy a cheapo VEGA64 to add in there rather than another Higher end single card Purchase

I am wondering here if the X570 with the PCI4.0 would actually allow better and smoother Xfire performance

any advice appreciated

thanks

To the op, by tomorrow you'd get a better idea about the X570 boards. You might have enuf funds for a capable X570 (they all are) and will just come down to the features you like.

@nolive721 , i dont think crossfire Vega64 can saturate even pcie3. Probably the new Navi. I see pcie4 being useful for the new nvme gen4.

thanks.
been starting to read more on the topic and there are people on reddit suggesting otherwise but I am struggling to find something really concrete.Hopefully people will test VEGAs in Xfire with the 2 boards chipset to compare

quote here below

PCIE 4.0 will greatly improve Crossfire. The Crossfire relies entirely on PCIE lanes that's why tests consistently show improvements in x16/x16 mode compared to x8/x8 mode..

For the moment on most reviews they seem to be performing almost equal con b450 x470 x570, and very very close to b350.
Let's see if in future bios / agesa bests mobo's can take some more perf from it.
