MSI MPG x570 GAMING PLUS/EDGE WIFI/PRO CARBON

So, anyone updated to final ABBA bios ? Any existing or solved problems, dump it all here.

I haven't flashed the new bios yet, i'll be doing it later today. I have the x570 gaming plus with 3600 and I used to see 4200 with the release bios but not with ab. I hadn't tried abb. I have no other issues except the platform's own dreaded slow boot. Everything auto, It never locked or blue screened, yet

Update: I just flashed to Abba and the first thing i noticed, i no longer see voltages go below 1.09v everything on auto except a-xmp enabled. That too changed, in 1.0.0.3ab bios there were xmp profiles and I would select 1 or 2, now it's a-xmp on or off. Also with previous bios i'd see 0.3 0.4v on desktop. The idle frequencies are the same.

As we are at the end of september, the temps are down. With cpu-z bench I'd see 3999 on all cores and it would settle there around 70c on stress test. Now it settles on 4019 (i guess this is averages too) around 68c and just keeps it there. I saw core0 4200 Last I saw was the launch bios. This is all monitored with latest Ryzen Master and chipset driver from amd.

Yeah, same hre: saw the core 0, 1, 2 and 3 boost to 42x. But the overall performance @ default is the same .... with idle voltage spikes to 1.46 or more ...... so for me at least, it does make sense to keep it cool and balanced:
https://valid.x86.fr/9bme4a

Stangely enough the 42.5GHz @ 1.35V is no longer stable with 1.30 bios like it was with 1.20 bios ....... anyway, the performance dif between 4.1GHz and 42.5GHz is less than 4%, so not worth it imo.

Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain.

You were probably on ABB right ? I was on AB. So my cinebench R15 score jumped a bit 1541 to 1607. R20 too. I've checked with ryzen master and I don't see +1.4v spikes anymore with everything on auto. Havent noticed it on hwinfo either however hwinfo shows 3600 for all cores all the time. Ryzen master shows 300 400 500 200 etc.

Yes, that was ABB.I cannot use Ryzen Master as it crashes every time i try to use it. Sometimes in 10 seconds, and other time in 2 minutes ........ Anyway, will probably get a better image once HWiNFO will be updated with the new AMD reporting sdk.

Timestamp 7:30 ...... I'm not sure how the hell his VRM got to 100 ........ my worst oc got the VR MOS temp readout of max 60-ish. But I'm running a 3600 here ...... so not really stressing a lot the mb.

I'll have to check my VR mos temp while cpu-z stress. I remember buildzoid talking about msi motherboards and how my x570 gaming plus had fins on vrm heatsink and would be more than ok Then hardwareunboxed comes in and nope, its trash :O

I definately got higher boost.. but i wonder if it comes to a cost with higher voltages. Playing BFV all core boost is 4100 + : https://imgur.com/2qS8JBZ .. But those voltages seems a bit high.. though i wonder if really matters because the VRM temps is lower compared to cinebench..so maybe its safe?

One annoying thing haha cinebench singel bench always goes to my worse chiplet so my singel score have gone down lol..

That's odd. I think the amd ryzen chipset driver needs something that the os can use to determine best cores like Ryzen Master does.

I think those separate core voltages are bogus. Ryzen does not report core voltages, it only reports total requested voltage which shows as cpu core voltage. However that is for everything on the cpu.

This is from ryzen SDK :
*Peak Core(s) Voltage (PCV): Reports the Voltage Identification (VID) requested by the CPU package of the motherboard voltage regulators. This voltage is set to service the needs of the cores under active load, but isn’t necessarily the final voltage experienced by all of the CPU cores.
*Average Core Voltage (ACV): Reports the average voltages experienced by all processor cores over a short sample period, factoring in active power management, sleep states, Vdroop, and idle time.
