I'm leaning towards the Gigabyte TRX40 DESIGNARE

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard...NARE-rev-10#kf

This one comes WITH the AORUS Gen4 AIC Adapter AND a 40Gb/s GC-Titan Ridge

The main thing it has for me is: 4 Gen 4 M.2 slots AND 5 PCIe slots.

This one has everything I need and more...

BUT... at what price?!!!!

I settled on the X399 Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme, since I wanted the 10Gbe LAN. Haven't built it yet though. It was not cheap, $554CDN, but considering what you get, I think it's par for the course with the feature set. I could have gotten a Designare locally for $525, so paying an extra $30 for 10Gbe was a no-brainer.

I'll weight in here, I have the TRX40, likely the only full public build available, I've had it since the start of the month. Fully overclock, over maximum voltage, I can touch the VRM heatsink. It has at least one fan under the I/O shroud.

Now, where I'd suggest the TRX40 Aorus Xtreme over others is the fact that the board has NO PLASTIC. EVERYTHING is alumimum, the whole motherboard shroud plate thingy is fully aluminium and I can tell you it does work as it's all warm, but easily touchable, so under 50C. I can't say ANY specific right now and can't compare other boards, but I can assure you the Aorus model hit a home run.

I think I'll go Gigabyte this time around, I like the Aorus Extreme. Maybe Asrock, especially if they release a micro ATX board this time around

I also wasnt sure what to buy.
Ordered the ASRock TRX40 TAICHI.
I could give proper feedback, but havent found a shop yet that has a 3970X in stock.
