Asus X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi vs MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC

Hey guys,

I want to buy a new system with a Ryzen 3900X and 16GB of RAM.

But I dont know which Mainboard I should buy because most of the X570 boards are very expensive in my opinion.

In the end I chose 2 mainboards which look great for me. Both have Wifi and BT 5.0 what I would like to have.

But there is still a price difference of 90€.....so which one should I take?

Would be there any problems with the VRM cooling or stuff like that if I go with the B450 board?

Get the X570. No point investing in an older chipset anymore unless your budget is REALLY low. But then again, why would you buy a 3900X if your budget was low?

I want to build a system which I can use 5 years and more like my actual setup (i7 2600k,Z68,8GB DDR3 Ram).

The new consoles will have 8 cores and 16 threads so I think that most games in future will be optimized in 8 cores.

My opinion was to get a 3900X to have "4 more cores" in reserve when I want to use this system for that long.

And I think about streaming on Twitch so I thought a 3900X would be better overall.

At the moment the 3900X has the best price for core relatio. It costs 429€.

The thing is,when I buy the X570,do I really notice a "better" performance?

Maybe in a year or two you will want to use PCI-E gen 4.0 NVME drives. You'll have to upgrade your motherboard again in order to have that option. Why not just spend the extra money now and have yourself a balanced, powerful machine?

So your opinion is,when you get a Monster like "3900X" then you should also buy a newer motherboard like X570. Or if you want to go with B450,you should better choose a 3700X or 3600.

Yeah, pretty much. Would you pair a $500 CPU with a $50 motherboard? In what world is that a balanced combo?

No that wouldnt be a balanced combo. But the B450 Pro Carbon AC is also not a 50$ board,it costs about 150$. But I understand what you want to say.

I always want to spend money for things where I notice a performance upgrade.

So I thought when I run a 3900X,do I notice any better performance on a X570 board than in a B450?

When you upgrade from HDD to SSD,you notice that. As well as from a better GK or better CPU....

I hope you can also understand what my thoughts were behind this.

And the TUF X570-Plus costs less than $200, so your B450 board suddenly becomes the worst deal imaginable.
