p55 seems to have a lot of problems... check out tom's review of the motherboards. Most of them blew vrm's during overclocking. Stick with gigabyte or asus for p55...

I'd blame it on the mobo. Your dad should understand that it's not on you. It's not like you poured water on it.
What happened isn't something to laught at, but what you did afterward boggles the mind. Just hope that only the mobo/VRM that's fried.
Oh. Check the PSU.

I may be considered inconsiderate here....but this sounds like BS.No way it caught fire then rebooted,caught fire again.Very suspect!
