Sorry, I was out for some time ... I ended up going for the Team group Xtreem 4500 on a big discount and I will be trying to reach the 3800/1900 1:1 ratio.

Although, my initial testing is not promising ... Dram calculator values fail, even on Safe, and I have no post what so ever ...

I need to spend more time trying to nail this ... I will first go to frequency, then timings and afterwards sub-timings ... My guess is that some of the sub-timings set by Dram Calculator are the issue...

Later today I'll try since my rig was finished yesterday

Forget about 3800MHz and go straight for 3733 or 3600MHz. 3800MHz compatibility on a Ryzen is a miracle as of now.

Yeah, that's why I will first go to 3600 without changing the timings ... and then go from there...
I would be super frustrated if I had paid the full price for these ram sticks ... but since I didn't ... I'll give it a go and try 3600 for starters. First things first, I want to understand why I was having no post ...

I think I need to go to Thaiphoon and export my rams exact parameters and go from there.

sorry to ask but i just would like some help

just a quick question

Is it still ok to go 32gb on all slots on AMD motherboards as I am looking at the gigabyte master. I am sure the memory runs slower when using all 4 slots or is it just you can not overclock it ?

Would You be able to get 3733 cl16 1:1 with all 4 slots used or just the two slots, As I am thinking of going 32gb ram as I am not sure if that’s overkill as I am not to sure what games and programs would use 32gb ram. Just thinking of the future. the menory is rated at 3600 cl16 and is samsung memory and does work at the 3733 c16 i been told and is not that expensive.

Is it best to go 16gb now and wait and in the future go for 2 sticks of 16gb = 32gb When the 2 sticks of 16gb are cheaper and replace the 2 sticks of 8gb stick.

would 32gb make my system alot slower than using 2 sticks of ram and would that only effect gaming and not other software.

sorry for all the questions but never went AMD before and its been 10 years since my last build

thanks

4x8 GB @ 3600-3733 & super low timings straight from 1usmus' calculator is very easy to get running. Doesn't matter if it's a daisy chain or t-top board from what I understand, it's still just going to come down to the IF lottery since 3800 is really the absolute max we're able to get out of this without decoupling anyway.

Also have a friend who just went with 64GB (4x16) Trident z neo 3600 @ C16, running no problem on an Aorus Master right out of the box (xmp). I'm confident those are dual rank sticks as well. I bet it would do 16-16-16-36 easily.

It's possible that a 2x8GB kit would pull ahead in timings for a bit of extreme OC / benching, but it just plain doesn't matter for a 24/7 setup.

Which average system would make use of 32gb?
It's just a waste of money and ram for the majority.
I have played some games, older or newer like CONTROL and I never see any ram usage of more than 9gb.
16gb is already enough for most users

becasue it`s very very cheap at the moment and its all going to go up in price since the samsung factory loses power

https://www.techpowerup.com/262566/m...-dram-and-nand

ram has already started to go up, also i found 32gb ram for the same price as 16gb of gskill neo which is well over priced where i am for what it is and its the same speed a cas timmings.
