I am looking for some advice on the x370 taichi

I am looking at getting a x370 taichi to replace my current b450f gaming. The reason for this upgrade is due to upgrading my cooling to a chiller in the future thus i want more head room from my vrm.

So is the x370 taichi ok for ryzen 3000 ? from what i have seen it is but i have not looked for ages. what are peoples experiences with the x370 taichi even without ryzen 3000.

Are there any other boards people would recommend?

Any responses are welcome and much appreciated.

There's a thread here where you can find people with an X370 Taichi:

https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-a...ng-thread.html

I have a 2700X, so no idea about Ryzen 3000. I have an X470 Taichi but I heard it's basically the same board as the X370 Taichi.

I don't really know what to say about possible problems with the board. Things work fine for me, but I use it on Linux so don't know how it behaves in Windows (I did only short testing there). For Linux at least the board seems great: the system log has no strange messages about BIOS errors which is pretty special, on other boards there's often error messages about ACPI. The Intel networking and bluetooth/WiFi has good support. The sensor and fan control chip has good support. I use ECC memory and everything about that works well, the board's BIOS menu shows all of AMD's ECC memory settings.

ASRock seem to have done well keeping up with BIOS updates for both the X370 and X470 Taichi, at least in my opinion. They don't yet have a final version of ComboAM4 1.0.0.4 B AGESA but they repeatedly released betas and seem to keep working on it. Compared to years ago, with the newest (beta) BIOS the board boots faster and new stuff showed up like a spread spectrum setting.

About VRM temperatures, I can only report something about very boring overclocking settings: VRM is at 50°C using 1.2V at full load with prime95. Those 1.2V are only about 110W CPU power usage on a 2700X.
