Console Killer

So a friend of mine wanted my help building a super powerful computer, but still wanted a slim/console look.

This is what I've come up with, what do yall think? (I had to make some adjustments on which heatsinks/psu to get to accommodate the super slim build)
This is the case http://www.sliger.com/products/cases/cl520/
Here are the rest of the parts, clocking in just under $1800 (including the case)

looks fine.

though its not a console killer. console killer is kind of moot at this point. It's a term used when new consoles release that refers to a PC of the same cost, that performs as good as, or better. usually only includes tower parts. what you've put together is a competent 120hz1440p gaming machine.

you see it most on reddit & other kid driven forums.

Looks pretty good for component choice. If you are interested in trying a slightly better thermal paste, the MX-4 is a little bit better of a performer for similar cost. You might be able to save some money on the PSU by choosing a different unit, though there is a ton of debate about PSU's these days so sometimes it's just best to stick with what you've already chosen to get the build moving along.

Nice parts, but unless you fit it in something the size of a console and beat the performance of a console, then you do not have a console killer... Just a nice gaming PC. IMO

I say this because I don't know what case you're using

*edit* I'm dumb. You sir have a console killer... I need to go pour a drink.

That cooler is trash. You can't cool the 3700X with that. Even a high-end Noctua NH-L9a will not be enough.

The 2070 Gaming X is way too wide to fit. (56mm vs 40 max)

Thermal paste is old and trash.

RAM kit is not good enough for Ryzen 3000.

Haha, I was more so using the term console killer referring to how small it is in regards to power.

What cooler would you think does a better job with a max height of 53mm? Just speaking from personal experience, I've always had better performance with the coolers that have fins going around the fan blades rather than resting ontop.

Also, how do you figure the 2070 is too wide? The case says it supports 2slot GPUs upto 325mm long?

The Gaming X is a three slot card. (56mm) The case only has two PCI-E slots. (40mm) => card is too wide.

No air cooler this small will be capable of cooling a 3000 series 8 core CPU. Your best bet is to try to cram an AIO in there. Maybe a 1x140mm AIO in push-pull with one fan and the radiator on the outside of the case.
