I would just use Windows Defender. Anything else is just a waste of money IMO.

Personally, never needed anything other than windows defender + free malwarebytes + noscript, ublock origin and privacy badger on firefox.

I have spent years going through all of them, looking for something that won't impact daily performance or gaming performance. I have spent the last couple of years using Kaspersky Internet security. I buy this then disable defender and windows firewall. I also run ublock origin on opera. I haven't had a virus outbreak in over a decade.

So when I start my desktop after bios, download the defender software?

Windows Defender is included with Windows 10.

I personally use Malwarebytes and Avira + ublock origin. Windows Defender on its own was not enough to stop a trojan that found its way onto my PC some time back.
