I have a 3.09GB Windows 7 64-bit.ISO on my computer (running Vista 32-bit) and I have a 8GB thumbdrive I'd like to put it on.

I've been suggested solutions before, but they weren't as simple as I thought they would be.

Does anyone have something easy to share? I'm willing to do the research, but was hoping someone had a great program with comprehensible directions for installation to share with me.

Thanks in advance!

Mount the .iso with whatever mounting program you use, I personally use MagicDisk.

Open CMD, use these command lines in order:

diskpart
list disk
select disk #
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format fs=fat32 quick
assign
exit
xcopy "Drive Letter":*.* /s/e/f "Flash Disk Letter":

One easy way is use this program and just select the .ISO you need and it will make the USB drive bootable. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Microsoft actually makes a tool to put a Windows ISO on a USB key, and to make it bootable.

Here is a similar option to EpicPie's + the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool is another good option, but if you prefer to do it maualy, try this =

Plug in a USB = 4GB or bigger

1.Open "Command Prompt" with admin rights.

2.Type DISKPART & hit enter

3.Type LIST DISK & note down the Disk number of your USB flash drive.

4.Type SELECT DISK & put your USB Disk Number at the end example = SELECT DISK 1

5.Type CLEAN

6.Type CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY

7.Type ACTIVE

8.Type FORMAT FS=NTFS

Note: The format process may take some time to complete

9.Type ASSIGN

10.Type EXIT

& Close "Command Prompt"

11.Copy all the Windows Disc contents to the USB flash drive.

Note: If you would like to use the USB on a netbook/notebook = when Windows is asking for driver, just click Cancel, You will be brought back to the welcome screen, At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to a DIFFERENT USB PORT,Click Install Now again, The installation process will be like usual.

I followed your directions, and it even said it copied all 900ish files after I typed "xcopy "G":*.* /s/e/f "J"

... Nothing happens, I even set to boot from remov. device from the BIOS...

All I get after my BIOS display message (the ROG logo), is a black screen with all this text, then another black screen with half the text, then it shows my HYPER SLI (which doesn't work, but that's another problem).

I'm honestly about to give up on all thumbdrives, and buy some DVDs and burn it to that... I'm seriously lost, why in the world is it in not working?

I'm following the directions, and using programs recommended.

I can't lie, I need this done ASAP so I can install games and relieve some of this frustration.. or I can pick up some weights... but please, if you have an idea - please let me know!

Thanks, and I'll give out rep later (I know you all have been so helpful), I'm just so tired from work and so depressed I can't get this to work :| Forgive me!
