Happens to me too, I have a 7970 with two monitors hooked up via DP. It will only do it on one at a time, and usually when it happens it goes away within a few minutes. Annoying? Yes.

Knowledge is power so I am sharing more information on having mouse cursors get corrupted.

[ Workaround: ] My quick solution has been WIN KEY + L (lock screen) > Click Switch User (screens flash) > Log back in to the user

[ Cause: ] Still unknown as many of you have discovered as well. Definitely related to video card Radeon 7700 7800 (7000 series) for sure have had the problem. I have brought this issue up to the video card manufacturer and have gotten the run-around. Computers with the exact same set up but with either a Radeon 5800 (5000 series) or Radeon 6800 (6000 series) did not have the issue.

[ Other factors: ] I believe the issue did not start popping up until I started updating drivers for the computer. Please have a look at the drivers I installed and you have the same driver, kindly reply and let us all know.

Installed 7/1/2014
Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver
Version 2.0.32.0

Installed 7/1/2014
Etron USB 3.0 Host Controller
Version 0.118
- Also pretty sure it bundled Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x64
- C++ version 9.0.30729

Installed 7/1/2014
Intel Network Connections 16.1.53.0
(NIC driver)

Installed 7/1/2014
Marvell 91xx driver
Version 1.2.0.1014

[ Connection/cabling: ]
Video Card
miniDP to DVI converter
DVI cable
Monitor

Hi,

This might be an issue related with the drivers for the mouse after installing Windows 7; you may try updating the drivers for the mouse from the Device Manager and check.
· Are you using Desktop computer or Laptop?
1. Click Start.
2. Type Device Manager in Start search.
3. Expand Mice and other Pointing devices in device manager window.
4. Right Properties.
5. Click on driver tab.
6. Click Update drivers.
7. Click OK.
Check if any exclamation marks are shown with the device. The exclamation mark shows an issue with the driver installed.
Refer the link to update the drivers: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly
I also suggest that you manually download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website and try installing the same on the computer and check.
You may also try connecting mouse to different port and check, this is to narrow down the issue if the issue is with mouse or with ports. You may also try connecting different mouse to the computer and try connecting this mouse to different computer and check.

Don't know why it happens but it does.

You my friend, are a genius. I know I am some 3 years late but this still happens, on Windows 10 too. So hopefully this helps others.
