None. I just don't do anything that would put me at risk. I would bet most people aren't as boring of a computer user as I am though. heh

I never worry about it either, and nothing bad has happened. If someone really wants to do some sort of hacking, no amount of Windows Updates will stop them.

I forgot to mention: I'm using Firefox with NoScript, uBlock Origin, MVPS.org's HOSTS file, and I'm also using the secure firewall in my router. So yeah, I guess there's that.

Loneliness is a good thing to share with someone.

The virtuous spirit has no need for thankful approval, owning a certain conviction that what has been done is right.

Hi,
Most security comes from ones firewall/ antivirus and dedicated malware protection not any version of windows
10 being more secure is just a BS sells marketing ploy because windows defender is a now a "so called antivirus"
Not by my standards lol

I wasn't as bad as mentioned
I was updated without issue till 5-2017 but since then more and more bad rollups were pushed out
I loaded December 2017's rollup and it is complete crap.
About to ditch it and go back to 5-2017 and leave it that way.

About all that needs updating is net framework if one actually needs that.

I have to admit, your idea seems like pure genius to me. For the last couple of years, I've been dreading the next time I'd have to install Windows 7 fresh because of all these updates I would have to find in the list so that I could hide them - not to mention hoping I didn't miss any when it comes time to click Install. That just sounds like a major project. For some reason, it never occurred to me to just hide all of the updates that have been released in the past few years. lol
Or just use my installer instead(its a home premium one):

Hi,
If one has a updated iso "without all the sludge updates" they can use asus media creator and it will create an all in one version iso out of it

I still have that last image they released in Dec 2016 as well. Cherishing it as a relic.

I should really back it up though, it's only on one thumb drive.

Can you share it in G Drive or something where we can download the ISO? I would love to get a copy of that to use on my new build!

Sure,

Link: https://mega.nz/#!F08UzAiD!fCvQPRTkb...SQye1z9XIkpzqY

That includes the original Windows 7 Pro x64 ISO from Team Grinder, from December 2016, labelled v1.3 as it was by themselves.

I've included the image with a few extras, some of them are necessary.

The install comes with all the updates installed up to 2016 December with no telemetry or other spying or "Get Windows 10" crap they were putting in at that time of day. It also comes without Internet Exploder installed, so I've had my own personal choice of firefox standalone install added within this package.

It also has 2 of the utilities Team Grinder reccomended IIRC, that being DWS and GWX. They were for disabling certain IP ranges and controlling the install so that it wouldn't automatically get the "Get Windows 10" stuff that could stealthily install itself overnight without you knowing. Both utilities are not exactly needed anymore in my opinion. But I've added them because they were there from the beginning so... yeah.

There are also 2 highly reccomended .NET updates. You should install these in the order from the larger file first, and after that, install the smaller update. "NDP" filenames.
