(Yes, I know it's crazy that I took a picture. It's a brand new comp and I just didn't want to go through hassel of screen shooting on it right now.)

This is what I'd like. Is it too much to ask?

1) Get rid of the always-open alphabetical list of programs in the middle.
2) Expand the icons on the left so that I can have larger links (hence easy to click) to my folders for music, movies, tv, pictures, documents.
3) Make the Windows Tiles look a lot better, but increasing the icon size (nut not shrinking the tile) and removing the words.

Any clue on how to do any of these? I'm happy to download 3rd-party software.

Thanks SO MUCH in advance for any help that's offered. I'm obsessing over this right now and I can't wait to get taken care of so I can really enjoy my laptop.

1) & 2) I have no idea what is going on. I've searched and searched, and absolutely no one else is having this issue. When we (myself and everyone on the internet) opens Start, there is an All Apps button that opens an alphabetically organized list that is collapsible. The shortcuts on the far left are just regular folder links on the left-pane list or as an icon on the tile list.

3) Can be accomplished with: https://github.com/Jonno12345/TileIconifier/releases
and using shortcuts for your application with invisible unicode character as the shortcut name.
(Instructions).
