Latest Windows 10 build 1803 prevents uninstallation of File and Printer Sharing

And according to users on the Microsoft social technet forums there's something wrong with you if you want to remove it in the latest version 1803 build. That's right. In the previous version of Windows, you could remove File and printer sharing and client for Microsoft networks and no one would question it. Now, in the latest version if you try to remove it, it's taboo.

HTML tags never worked on OCN. You gotta use BB format and that uses the braces [ ], not the HTML < and >

why would you want to remove it though? from the screenshot posted just untick the box next to the one you want to disable and it'll be disabled. You don't need to remove it.

Thats kind of dirty. Locking out power users around every turn.

This is the type of behavior I could see for home sku, but professional should still have control of their system.

Anyone thinking of going back to 7? lol
Have yet to see any performance difference in games, the OS isn't faster and no games use DX12 yet do they? I like search but it's a small price to pay.
Either that or I'm going to do a clean install and systematically go trough and kill everything I hate on 10. Removing stock apps and killing the spying wasn't enough it seems. Now I need to find a stable build and somehow get it to that point and break updates.

Actually theres some pretty awesome games using DX12 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ctX_12_support while I am not a huge fan of 10 I have to say there are DX12 games that are fun. Whether its better in DX11 or 12 I dont know.

Sorry I should have been more specific.
Are there any games made from the ground up on dx12 that actually work better on it?
Most bench marks I've seen seem to tank on DX12 while 11 has much better spread between min and max.
I feel (so far) like I was dipped into Windows 10 on the promise that one day it would change gaming. All this time later it doesn't seem to have done that. Of course I could be a little out of date on the matter.

It's too bad Linux never took off as a gaming platform -- or even as a contender.

It's nothing to do with gaming. It's people...if devs made games for both they'd waste money on linux side IMO.
I'd love it but most gamers are stupid. If Windows keeps going like it is, we may see more consideration for Linux from devs. Heck how would they pick a distro? Would it work equally across all of them?

Valve tried to push for it a little but no one wanted the Steam OS. If it were an application with in linux I'd be down.

They wouldn't need to pick a specific distro. Performance varies with kernel, drivers, and how things are compiled, but by and large if it works in one up to date distro, it will probably work in another.
