Missing bootmgr turns into I'm never coming back.

So earlier this year I had the power go out at the house back to back about 4 times in a row before I had a chance to shut down and unplug my pc. I just moved into the house and didnt have everything really up and running so no battery back up, just power strip in the wall. After the storms and all were gone I hooked it all back up to check the damage. It kinda corrupted the boot sector but I was able to get it to boot with a usb. Before I was able to fix it tho the power went out again, just my luck. Now no matter what I try it doesnt want to fix the bootmgr. I can see the drive in bios, disk management(it says its a healthy drive with nothing on it), and in diskpart(I can open up folders and see all my programs and info still there). The drive is still good. It wont show up in explorer though. Its a 1tb Crucial ssd formatted in gpt with win 10 os. I really need to get this drive fixed but have no idea what to do at this point everything I tried isnt working. I kinda put it on the back burner for the past month and a half so I dont remember everything I tried. I am willing to try everything again though, any help would be great.

Hi,
I'd suspect a linux usb could access and at least see what the disk looks like.... recover personal files.
Either one of these should the trick
http://www.sevenforums.com/software/...-computer.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...s-dead-os.html

You could also rebuild the boot loader with installation media with some cmd

So you tried to point the 10 installer to C already and it didn't recognize the os on it ?
Startup repair ?

You could maybe clean install on another ssd if you have another same
The use macrium reflect and make it's winpe recovery cd/ usb recovery media and use it on the messed up crucial ssd :/

I dont have another 1tb ssd but a do have a hdd that may work? I havent heard of macrium reflect but Ill give it a shot. and Ill do the linux as a last resort to salvage what I can.

I know it's not much help, but I had something similar occur on a SSD in my laptop. After about a month of wrestling with it, I gave up and threw it away. In my situation, I think it was due to the disk encryption software I was using, but I never did find out for sure. I do know that windows wouldn't see the drive. Linux would see the drive and even the partitions, but couldn't mount it. I tried a linux based recovery program and let it run for 2 weeks, and it only got to 3%. I figured I would be better off just buying a new drive, since the problem drive didn't have anything important on it anyway.

Hi,
Doesn't have to be same size ssd but it would be best to be a ssd same brand so disk drivers are the same/ format...
Not sure a hdd would work but never know till you try easiest thing atm for you it sounds.

the drive and different partitions and all came up in that software. Im clearing out a 2tb hdd now so I can clone it just in case something happens and then Im gonna try and recover the drive using the software and see what happens. Im getting further than I did before so im happy, I really appreciate the help.

so after much trouble and talking through some things with another friend, Im thinking the only option is to clear things out and copy stuff over from the image. Im thinking load win 10 after a fresh format and then image just the windows files back over? idk I had to make the it gpt when I first did everything before since it was a 1tb drive. so with the bootmgr missing I dont remember if it would work. I still have the cloned drive and the image so I still have everything, so far... I hope.

Hi,
If there's enough unallocated space on the 1tb ssd just install 10 on it
The installer will create a new boot loader and if you use F8 to bring up the boot menu it may list the other C partition install

Free mini tool can make the space needed unallocated if you need too
Mini tool can also add a label to the original C partition so you can identify it from the new C partition the installer will install too
