Stuck in Repair Loop after a Random Win10 Crash

So, I was using Windows 10 Professional on my desktop. Been a while sinc I've been here, so I don't know if you all can see my build listed. It used to be in my Sig.

Anyway, one day, while I was sleeping, it crashed. I figured "No problem. I'll just restore from my backup i made 3 days ago". I use EaseUs Todo Backup and make two weekly incremental backups per week. And, my backups have never had a problem, until now. So I run EaseUs. The restore goes though successfully. However, now I'm getting a windows repair screen. So then, I try an older backup I'd used a few weeks before. Same result. I run through all my incremental backups going back 6 months and they all come up with the same repair loop. It's also not a hardware issue as I replaced the boot drive and still get repair errors from my backups.I don't know how or when my previously functional back-ups became corrupted, but i can no longer boot from that drive. And i don't want to do a clean install because i don't want to have to buy new product keys for my various programs i no longer have the virtual keys to. I thought also it might be an mbr issue, so i used several methods attempting to restore/re-create it, but it says my mbr is fine each time. i also tried chkdsk /f and sfc /scannow. No luck. Any ideas on how I can either fix this install or at least migrate my programs and files to a new win10 build whole even though I can't boot from that drive? ((EaseUs TransPro onlu allows me to move programs from the drive i'm booting up from. not a secondary drive ))

I apologize for how ramble-y this post is and unstructured. I will answer any questions i might have missed mentioning.

Hi,
incremental backups well they are quick but also don't do much good if the install is borked

Full backups take more time obviously but are way more reliable if disconnected from the system after completing a full system image.
Otherwise they are just as susceptible to corruption as the main os is.

Where to go now
Well you could clean install and this time make a system startup repair cd/ usb flash media to fix some of these issues if you haven't already created one with EaseUs...
Otherwise you're kind of stuck with the utility you used for backup to fix the issue.

Linux on usb can recover personal files pretty easily usually.

As I mention, the full restoredoesnot work any better than the incrementals. and yeah, i made a start-up repair cd and usb. both say everything is fixed and fine.

Hi,
If you have a paid license with this backup utility get with their support maybe they have some tricks

I personally use free macrium reflect and only full system images.

My problem with full backups is they take like 12 hours a piece and don't over-write the previous backup. so, i end up using up a terabyte of storage space every month just in back-ups. hat being said, my initial full backups are not working any better than the incremental. tey all load successfully then tell me my OS needs to be repaired.

that sucks, I've never heard of the software or had this issue... likely because I take full snaps. I've never trusted windows to fix itself. Hell, most of their 20 year old troubleshooters just started to actually be worth a damn in the last couple years.

I also don't keep my OS & my data next to each other.

reformat, and switch to a better known software provider like Macrium & such.

R.I.P. Zawarudo, may you OC angels' wings in heaven.
If something appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Not exactly sure what you mean by OS and Data not next to one another. Most of my programs are on a different drive than my OS, but i can't access them without the dll and sys files etc that are always saved on the boot drive. If there is a way to change where those are downloaded, I don't know of it. I have access to all of my non-program files.

lol. I've been hearing about EaseUs and using it for like 15 years now. I have literally never heard of Macrium before this conversation. the only other backup software I know of is Acronis.

Talked to EaseUs. they remoted in and found it was a corrupted bcd. They rebuilt. Now, I'm working with a ntoskrl.exe error.
