I am currently working in a rather well known gaming company. Just about everyone uses C++ for the heavy stuff, and lua for scripting. Anything else is wasting your time really.

That said, I wouldn't learn C++ as a first language. Start on something easy and work your way up.

I was thinking Java... Why? RSPS communities, the key to creating applications that are not useless, and are enjoyable. I play around with it, snippets and tutorials of course... but learning will be much easier, and I won't be making pointless and useless applications that will never benefit others when I learn an alternative language.

I proudly oppose all legislation to destroy our freedoms and support anything to protect our privacy online and off.
Hope I've added something to the conversation!
