Just wondering if anyone can recommend me a PHP (Probably $30 or less) book, that is friendly to beginner programmers. I'm not looking to learn everything about PHP in one book either. Mainly the basics, that can get me in gear.
I have been doing codeacademy for a little bit, but I've gotten a temp job now and don't have much time anymore to be on my computer. When my job is over, I have a 30 minute wait before my ride can drive me home. I was thinking about even trying to get a cheap asus eeebook and taking it there. (Current laptop is a hunk of junk) While also learning php, then maybe find where I left off, with HTML and CSS.
I went to "thenewboston" channel and took a quick look at his videos. There are a lot of videos and more then 5hr worth of video, maybe more then 15hr. I'm thinking I won't really be able to watch videos while I'm waiting at work. I also do better with book then looking at a screen. Managing the tutorial video and a editor at the same time can be a bit stressfull... even tho I do have two monitors. Books you can just read where you left off, or easily reread, no rewinding. (would be a pain on a 11.6" screen with only a track pad)
