im pretty much a completely clueless when it comes to programming. what i was wondering is what do you do with the code to actually make a program out of it or whatever. like a bunch of websites have a code for a program, but all that is is text. what do you have to do with the text to get the actual program and get it to work? please be as specific as you an when answering cause i know next to nothing about programming. thanks

exactly, major is a somewhat relative term when talking about compilers... if youre just curious you can look around places like http://www.bloodshed.net/compilers/ and http://www.codepedia.com/1/CompilerList

umm i dont really know. do you guys just have to guess which language it is in if you ever have code that you want to compile

if you know anything about code, youll probably be able to look at the source and know what language its in, not really much guess work involved... then you just get a compatible compiler and compile what you have

whats an easy to use C++ compiler that you would suggest for a beginer

i got dev C++ and messed around with it a bit. i still dont get how to get an .exe file out of the source though
