Lost reputation and flame

Hello all.

Just wanted to inform that I have personally lost several hundred reputation points and flame, and have noticed that others have lost theirs as well.

Good luck team OCN

I commiserate;
The loss is indeed staggering, one hardly feels the same person anymore! Walk out the door, neighbours look at you sideways; "wasn't he the one..?"; go to the super, cashier now thinks you're there to rob them. Why, your dog looks at you funny now; talk about dodgy, innit.
The sheer insult, the degradation.

Had two flames once, now none.. so appalling was the loss, trully.. that i never really did anything about it. I do however hope you find the strength to recover from this.

Edit: Here, some rep for you. A small fix but, nonetheless.

Pride, honour and purity.

Thanks, I do not know what to say other than that I agree... All is to much, and yet to little. As if all is lost, yet always that small hope of a better tomorrow.

Best wishes to you Aenra

You should give the following a read although ignore the 10 starting rep part that was changed to 0

These queries are quite intensive and "touch" every user more than once. Due to the intensity of this VS needs to find an appropriate time to schedule this to be done. It is unclear to me if they will stop the site for a few minutes or not. Once that is complete the VS QA team will need to approve my changes to the site templates. I have been unable to wrestle an ETA for that process. So to recap what needs to happen and what changes the user's will see.

  • All Reputation values will be reset to reflect only 1 rep point given
  • Unique rep will be calculated and stored 1 point for each unique person to rep you
  • 10 rep points will be added to each user to reflect the starting rep of 10 for new users
  • All users will top out at 5 flames once they reach 750 rep points
  • Staff members will not be able to display rep points, flames, or receive rep
  • A site "promotion" will automatically move users into a "For Sale Enabled" usergroup at 35 rep points
  • The For Sale forum will be limited to those users in this group regardless of previous access
It should be noted that some users will see a MASSIVE drop in reputation. Previously, the system was setup so that rep-power (the number of rep points a member can give) increased with the number of days they were a member, the number of posts they made, and the amount of rep they had. I believe that my rep-power was roughly 2,500. The system should have been configured to never allow more than 1 point given at a time. So, if I had given reputation to a new member just once they would have had a rep score of 2,510. Once the system is updated that user would be reset to have a rep score of 11 (one from me and the 10 initial). Like I said, a MASSIVE drop. It should also be noted that a few members may see an increase in rep. It appears that the new system started users off at 0 rep points instead of 10. So, if you had 1 rep before you will end up with 11. Granted that won't affect many users. Also, the initial 10 does not count toward unique rep. The user that started a 1 and then moved to 11 would show only 1 unique rep. Users with only the initial 10 will not show any value for unique rep.

Please understand that these changes are happening across the board. No user is exempt. No amount of complaining will change your score from the number to which it gets reset. The values are calculated from the data in the tables and changed with prejudice.

If I find out more information about timing I will post it here.
