I think if you’ll read through the thread you’ll find plenty of discussion about fans and making things as quiet as possible.

Hi,
I know that manual for FT03 MINI states that it's compatible with 120mm AIO, but maybe there is enough room to fit 140mm one, like Nzxt Kraken X42?
Can anyone check?

Sorry for the translated English.

I decided to put a Noctua NH-D15 SE-AM4, has anyone put it to see if it is good?
I also put two Noctua-Nf-A8 underneath and one NF-A9x14. At first I picked up the normal A9, but it did not fit. I'll change the current 12 '

I'm quite a fan of the Silverstone FT03. The fact that you can buy the Sugo pack bag and that the motherboard's I/O shield faces the top makes it very portable in my opinion. The one thing that has always annoyed me though is that the power socket faces the case's bottom. Since all other cables are plugged in on the top, it's just an additional hassle to have to turn the whole case around in order to plug in the electricity plug at its bottom.

Enter my mod! I've cut out the small ventilation grid on the top and I've had an iron plate laser cut to fit the case's C14 mount. Hope you like it!

Hello! I've had a FT03-Mini sitting around for some time and have been waiting for the right time to use it. What with the Ryzens being a decent price and some extra cash suddenly appearing (don't tell the missus) I was able to finally get the parts I needed to make a nice little new HTPC instead of just relying on an older AMD quad-core in a standard mid-tower case to run Kodi and various older games.

It took some work, but I was able to fit everything I needed into the box. My system consists of:

Gigabyte AB350N
Ryzen 5 2600
Geil 16GB 2x8
Corsair Hydro H60
Corsair SF600
Samsung 250GB 970evo M.2
Toshiba 4TB x300
Nvidia GTX460 (Okay, that one's old. Didn't have anything else.)

I have not modified the case in any way. I also do not have any custom cables. I actually had to turn the PSU upside down because the tray that would hold the slim optical drive and traditional hard drive actually blocked the plugs coming out of the modular ports on the psu. Suuuuuuuuuper tight fit, but it works. The last thing I want to do is replace the 460 with one of those 1070-mini cards.

Sorry I don't have any pictures. It's a super dirty setup and with everything in there so tight I just couldn't get a good picture anyway.

I'm looking into upgrading my GPU from a GTX 970 to an RTX 2070.
Unfortunately, blower-style coolers that are short enough to fit in the FT03 Mini no longer exist (I checked MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte, Zotac, they're all 2-4cm too long).

What are people's experiences with short or shorter (for example, the MSI Aero or Gigabyte Mini GPUs), open cooling GPUs versus blower-style coolers?
In other words, has anyone tried both styles of the same or similar GPU, and compared temps?

I'm wondering now whether the real issue of open GPUs is the fact that they're facing the side, or that not enough air gets blown in from the bottom because they're so long.
Of course the reality is probably a combination, but if the latter is the dominating factor, I imagine that something like the MSI Ventus could even work, as long as a few centimeters are left in the bottom for air to be blown in from the bottom chassis fan?

Any insight, practical or theoretical, would be appreciated :-)

I ended up getting myself a Gigabyte 2017 Mini. Can not recommend.
The GPU runs at 80 degrees and sounds like a jet engine. Hot air is blown into the bottom of the case, and doesn't escape.
If I take off the side, it drops to 70 degrees under the same load.

Essentially: FT03 Mini owners are screwed now, as there seems to be literally no GPU on the market (at least not an RTX 2070) that 1) has a blower-style cooler and 2) fits in the case.
If anyone knows of an exception, I'm keen to hear it!
